The list of countries by GDP showed on this page is based on the latest data from the World Economic Outlook by the International Monetary Fund. 192 countries from around the world are ranked by GDP measured in US dollars and PPPs from 1980 to 2019. Gross Domestic Product, or GDP, measures the economy size of a country. In addition, many countries do not formally participate in the World Bank's PPP project that calculates these measures, so the resulting GDP estimates for these countries may lack precision. For many developing countries, PPP-based GDP measures are multiples of the official exchange rate (OER) measure.
